Handling dynamic instantiation of edge application server (eas) in an edge network

Abstract

The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. Embodiments disclosed herein provide a method for handling dynamic instantiation of an EAS (300) in an EDN (1000) by an EEC (400). The method includes receiving a first message from an ECS (600) or an EES (500). The first message includes instantiable EAS information indicating an EAS instantiation status per EAS of a list of EASs and an instantiable criteria upon which the EAS (300) of the list of EASs is instantiable. Further, the method includes selecting at least one EAS (300) from the list of EASs or at least one EES to select the at least one EAS based on the instantiable EAS information and the instantiable criteria. Further, the method includes performing an EAS discovery of the at least one selected EAS based on the instantiable EAS information.
