Intelligent Querying Of Network-Connected Devices

A method performed by at least one device including a hardware processor, the method comprising:

• using a first node of a network to identify a first unique identifier of a first identifier type corresponding to a first device connected to the network, the first node having a first network node type for use in identifying identifiers of the first identifier type;
• wherein the network comprises at least a second node having a second network node type for use in identifying identifiers of a second identifier type;
• wherein the second identifier type is not available for the first device when the first unique identifier is identified;
• obtaining first information associated with a set of communications transmitted to or from the first device based at least in part on the first unique identifier of the first identifier type corresponding to the first device;
• selecting a first subset of one or more queries of a candidate set of queries for the first device based at least in part on the first information;
• wherein the first subset of one or more queries is different than a second subset of one or more queries of the candidate set of queries selected for one or more other devices on the network based at least in part on other information, at least a portion of the other information obtained using the second node;
• and
• causing execution of the first subset of one or more queries on the first device based on the selecting of the first subset of one or more queries.

A system comprising:

• at least one device including a hardware processor;
• the system being configured to perform operations comprising:
• using a first node of a network to identify a first unique identifier of a first identifier type corresponding to a first device connected to the network, the first node having a first network node type for use in identifying identifiers of the first identifier type;
• wherein the network comprises at least a second node having a second network node type for use in identifying identifiers of a second identifier type;
• wherein the second identifier type is not available for the first device when the first unique identifier is identified;
• obtaining first information associated with a set of communications transmitted to or from the first device based at least in part on the first unique identifier of the first identifier type corresponding to the first device;
• selecting a first subset of one or more queries of a candidate set of queries for the first device based at least in part on the first information;
• wherein the first subset of one or more queries is different than a second subset of one or more queries of the candidate set of queries selected for one or more other devices on the network based at least in part on other information, at least a portion of the other information obtained using the second node;
• and
• causing execution of the first subset of one or more queries on the first device based on the selecting of the first subset of one or more queries.
