Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle Session Management

A wireless device comprising one or more processors and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the wireless device to:

• send, to an access and mobility management function (AMF), a registration request message comprising:
• a capability of an uncrewed aerial service (UAS);
• an identity of the wireless device;
• and
• a civil aviation authority (CAA) level uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) identifier;
• receive, from the AMF, an accept message, for the registration request message, indicating that a UAS UAV authentication and/or authorization (UUAA) of the wireless device is pending;
• send, to the AMF, an uplink non-access stratum (NAS) transport message comprising:
• a data network name (DNN) associated with the UAS;
• and
• a first request for a first protocol data unit (PDU) session establishment associated with the DNN;
• receive, from the AMF and based on the first request not being forwarded, a downlink non-access stratum (NAS) message, comprising:
• a cause value indicating that the UAS is not allowed;
• and
• a payload container comprising the first request;
• and
• send, to the AMF, a second request for a second PDU session associated with the UAS, wherein the sending is based on the wireless device receiving a configuration update message indicating a successful UUAA result.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a wireless device, cause the wireless device to:

• send, to an access and mobility management function (AMF), a registration request message comprising:
• a capability of an uncrewed aerial service (UAS);
• an identity of the wireless device;
• and
• a civil aviation authority (CAA) level uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) identifier;
• receive, from the AMF, an accept message, for the registration request message, indicating that a UAS UAV authentication and/or authorization (UUAA) of the wireless device is pending;
• send, to the AMF, an uplink non-access stratum (NAS) transport message comprising:
• a data network name (DNN) associated with the UAS;
• and
• a first request for a first protocol data unit (PDU) session establishment associated with the DNN;
• receive, from the AMF and based on the first request not being forwarded, a downlink non-access stratum (NAS) message, comprising:
• a cause value indicating that the UAS is not allowed;
• and
• a payload container comprising the first request;
• and
• send, to the AMF, a second request for a second PDU session associated with the UAS, wherein the sending is based on the wireless device receiving a configuration update message indicating a successful UUAA result.
