Abstract
An electrical connector includes a housing defining an internal connector space and mateable with a mating housing of a second electrical connector in a mating direction parallel to a mating axis, at least three electrical contacts housed in the internal connector space and mateable with a plurality of second electrical contacts of the second electrical connector, and a lever housed in the internal connector space. A pivoting of the lever moves a position of the electrical contacts relative to each other and relative to the housing.

An electrical connector, comprising:
- a housing defining an internal connector space and mateable with a mating housing of a second electrical connector in a mating direction parallel to a mating axis;
- at least three electrical contacts housed in the internal connector space and mateable with a plurality of second electrical contacts of the second electrical connector;
- and
- a lever housed in the internal connector space, a pivoting of the lever moves a position of the electrical contacts relative to each other and relative to the housing.
An electrical connector assembly, comprising:
- an electrical connector including a housing defining an internal connector space, at least three electrical contacts housed in the internal connector space, and a lever housed in the internal connector space, a pivoting of the lever moves a position of the electrical contacts relative to the housing;
- and
- a second connector including a mating housing mateable with the housing of the electrical connector and a plurality of second electrical contacts mateable with the electrical contacts of the electrical connector, the lever is pivoted such that each of the electrical contacts is bottomed out against a respective one of the second electrical contacts.
A method of connecting a first electrical connector with a second electrical connector along a mating axis, comprising:
- abutting a distal end surface of a first electrical contact of the first electrical connector against a mating surface of a first mating electrical contact receptacle of the second electrical connector;
- and
- mechanically securing the first electrical connector to the second electrical connector by a friction-fit and/or a form-fit between a first housing of the first electrical connector and a second housing of the second electrical connector.
