Abstract
A secondary battery and a method of manufacturing a secondary battery are disclosed. A secondary battery includes an electrode assembly including an electrode tab, a case in which the electrode assembly is accommodated, a connection member electrically connected to the electrode tab, a side terminal electrically connected to the connection member, a cap plate coupled to an opening of the case and through which the side terminal passes, a first insulator insulating the cap plate from the connecting member, and a first bonding part bonding the first insulator and the cap plate.
Claims20
A secondary battery comprising:
- an electrode assembly comprising an electrode tab;
- a case in which the electrode assembly is accommodated;
- a connection member electrically connected to the electrode tab;
- a side terminal electrically connected to the connection member;
- a cap plate coupled to an opening of the case and through which the side terminal passes;
- a first insulator insulating the cap plate from the connecting member;
- and
- a first bonding part bonding the first insulator and the cap plate.
A method of manufacturing a secondary battery, the method comprising:
- forming a first concave groove in a cap plate;
- bonding a first insulator to the cap plate;
- and
- bonding the cap plate and a side terminal.
