Abstract
An energy storage device for a power supply system contains an energy storage module with a battery cell, a cooler which is configured for cooling the battery cell, and a resistive sheet which has an electrical resistance and is in electrical contact with the battery cell. The resistive sheet is arranged between the battery cell and the cooler.

An energy storage device for a power supply system, the energy storage device comprising:
- a plurality of energy storage modules, where each of said energy storage modules, containing:
- a battery cell;
- a cooler configured for cooling said battery cell;
- and
- a resistive sheet having an electrical resistance and being in electrical contact with said battery cell, wherein said resistive sheet is disposed between said battery cell and said cooler.

A method for operating an energy storage device having a plurality of energy storage modules, each of the energy storage modules comprising:
- a battery cell;
- a cooler configured for cooling the battery cell;
- and
- a resistive sheet having an electrical resistance and being in electrical contact with the battery cell, the resistive sheet being disposed between the battery cell and the cooler;
- which comprises the step of:
- during a charging process, charging each said battery cell with a charging current, wherein in the battery cells which already have reached an end-of-charge voltage, the resistive plate is connected parallel to the battery cell.
