Provided is a lithium secondary battery including a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator, and a non-aqueous electrolyte, wherein the positive electrode includes a positive electrode active material, the positive electrode active material includes lithium iron phosphate particles, the non-aqueous electrolyte includes a lithium salt, an organic solvent, and an additive, and the additive includes a compound represented by Formula 1 below: wherein all the variables are described here.

A lithium secondary battery comprising:
- a positive electrode;
- a negative electrode;
- a separator;
- and
- a non-aqueous electrolyte,
- wherein the positive electrode comprises a positive electrode active material,
- the positive electrode active material comprises lithium iron phosphate particles,
- the non-aqueous electrolyte comprises a lithium salt, an organic solvent, and an additive, and
- the additive comprises a compound represented by Formula 1:
- wherein, in Formula 1,
- R1 and R2 are each independently an alkylene group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and
- R3 is an alkyl group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms substituted with at least one fluorine.
