Abstract
A drive recorder to be mounted on a vehicle includes an acquisition unit, a recording unit, a communication unit, and a control unit. The acquisition unit acquires data representing driving condition. The recording unit records the acquired data. The communication unit transmits the acquired data to the outside. The control unit controls the quality of the data to be transmitted based on the information received from the outside.
Claims15
An apparatus comprising:
- a communication interface configured to perform data communication via a network;
- a storage device comprising a first storage area and a second storage area, the first storage area being different from the second storage area;
- a processor configured to execute the instructions to:
- store a first video data in the first storage area based on video captured by a camera mounted on a vehicle;
- receive, from an external device via the communication interface, a command to activate video control based on a geographical condition;
- acquire position information of the vehicle;
- determine whether the position information of the vehicle satisfies the geographical condition, wherein the geographical condition includes geographical area information, and the determining whether the position information of the vehicle satisfies the geographical condition includes determining whether a position of the vehicle represented by the position information of the vehicle is within an area represented by the geographical area information;
- in a case that the position information of the vehicle satisfies the geographical condition, store a second video data in the second storage area based on video captured by the camera,
- in the case that the position information of the vehicle satisfies the geographical condition, transmit the second video data to the external device;
- in a case that the position information of the vehicle does not satisfy the geographic condition, not store the second video data in the second storage area;
- and
- in the case that the position information of the vehicle does not satisfy the geographic condition, not transmit the second video data to the external device.

- storing a first video data in the first storage area based on video captured by a camera mounted on a vehicle;
- receiving, from an external device via the communication interface, a command to activate video control based on a geographical condition;
- acquiring position information of the vehicle;
- determining whether the position information of the vehicle satisfies the geographical condition, wherein the geographical condition includes geographical area information, and the determining whether the position information of the vehicle satisfies the geographical condition includes determining whether a position of the vehicle represented by the position information of the vehicle is within an area represented by the geographical area information;
- in a case that the position information of the vehicle satisfies the geographical condition, storing a second video data in the second storage area based on video captured by the camera,
- in the case that the position information of the vehicle satisfies the geographical condition, transmitting the second video data to the external device;
- in a case that the position information of the vehicle does not satisfy the geographic condition, not storing the second video data in the second storage area;
- and
- in the case that the position information of the vehicle does not satisfy the geographic condition, not transmitting the second video data to the external device.

A non-transitory computer readable medium storing a program comprising instructions for causing a computer, to execute processing of:
