Real Time Object Detection and Tracking

A computing system, comprising:

• one or more processors;
• and
• one or more non-transitory computer-readable media that store instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations, the operations comprising:
• detecting presence of one or more objects depicted in a viewfinder of a camera of a mobile device;
• for each of the one or more the objects, identifying, from among one or more confidence values, a respective confidence value associated with a probability that a detected object belongs to an object class;
• requesting content related to the one or more objects from a content distribution system, wherein the request includes data based at least in part on the one or more confidence values;
• tracking each of the one or more objects in the viewfinder of the camera while waiting to receive the content as requested content from the content distribution system;
• receiving, from the content distribution system, the requested content as received content;
• determining, based on the tracking, one or more respective locations of the one or more objects in the viewfinder;
• and
• presenting, within the viewfinder and at the one or more respective locations, the received content.

A non-transitory, computer-readable medium comprising instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations, the operations comprising:

• detecting presence of one or more objects depicted in a viewfinder of a camera of a mobile device;
• for each of the one or more the objects, identifying, from among one or more confidence values, a respective confidence value associated with a probability that a detected object belongs to an object class;
• requesting content related to the one or more objects from a content distribution system, wherein the request includes data based at least in part on the one or more confidence values;
• tracking each of the one or more objects in the viewfinder of the camera while waiting to receive the content as requested content from the content distribution system;
• receiving, from the content distribution system, the requested content as received content;
• determining, based at least in part on the tracking, one or more respective locations of the one or more objects in the viewfinder;
• and
• presenting, within the viewfinder and at the one or more respective locations, the received content.
