Information processing system and information processing method

An information processing system for a drive system including a drive device that consumes power, generation of which causes emission of carbon dioxide gas, the drive system being either a target system or a base system, the information processing system being configured to calculate a reduction contribution amount in emission reduction of the carbon dioxide gas using the target system as compared to the base system, the information processing system comprising:

• a sensor configured to measure a first power consumption amount, which is an amount of the power consumed by the drive device in the target system;
• and
• an information processing device, including:
• a processor, and
• a non-transitory storage medium containing program instructions, execution of which by the processor causes the information processing device to provide functions of:
• a first conversion unit configured to convert the first power consumption amount measured by the sensor to a first emission amount, which is an amount of the emission of the carbon dioxide gas in the generation of a power amount corresponding to the first power consumption amount;
• an acquisition unit configured to acquire a second power consumption amount, which is an amount of the power consumed by the drive device in accordance with a control pattern of the base system, by using a power consumption model that derives the power consumption of the drive device based on a control pattern of the drive device;
• a second conversion unit configured to convert the second power consumption amount to a second emission amount, which is an amount of the emission of the carbon dioxide gas in the generation of a power amount corresponding to the second power consumption amount;
• and
• a calculation unit configured to calculate a difference between the first emission amount and the second emission amount as the reduction contribution amount.
