Abstract
Embodiments described herein are generally related to distributed ledger technology, and more particularly to systems and methods for processing confidential tokenized payments on a distributed ledger fabric, for example a Hyperledger Fabric blockchain. The system provides for confidential value transfer transactions where only the participants involved in the transactions can view the clear-text transaction data, while other organizations can only access the cryptographically protected values using a commitment scheme.
Claims20
A system for processing confidential tokenized payments on a distributed ledger fabric, comprising:
- a computer system comprising one or more microprocessors, wherein the computer system operates to perform steps comprising:
- receiving, from a client application associated with a first party to a transaction, a request to perform the transaction using a distributed ledger, with a second party to the transaction;
- determining a first set of numeric or other data associated with the request;
- determining a second set of textual or other data associated with the request;
- and
- processing the transaction associated with the request, including:
- determining a private data store associated with the first party;
- generating, using a commitment scheme, a cryptographically-protected form of the first set of numeric or other data, and storing said cryptographically-protected form at a first data store of the distributed ledger;
- storing the second set of textual or other data as a clear-text form within the private data store associated with the first party;
- and
- coordinating processing of the transaction and updating contents of the private data stores as a result of the transaction.
A method for processing confidential tokenized transactions using a distributed ledger, comprising:
- receiving, from a client application associated with a first party to a transaction, a request to perform the transaction using a distributed ledger, with a second party to the transaction;
- determining a first set of numeric or other data associated with the request;
- determining a second set of textual or other data associated with the request;
- and
- processing the transaction associated with the request, including:
- determining a private data store associated with the first party;
- generating, using a commitment scheme, a cryptographically-protected form of the first set of numeric or other data, and storing said cryptographically-protected form at a first data store of the distributed ledger;
- storing the second set of textual or other data as a clear-text form within the private data store associated with the first party;
- and
- coordinating processing of the transaction and updating contents of the private data stores as a result of the transaction.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium having instructions thereon for processing confidential tokenized payments on a distributed ledger fabric, which when read and executed by a computer cause the computer to perform steps comprising:
- receiving, from a client application associated with a first party to a transaction, a request to perform the transaction using a distributed ledger, with a second party to the transaction;
- determining a first set of numeric or other data associated with the request;
- determining a second set of textual or other data associated with the request;
- and
- processing the transaction associated with the request, including:
- determining a private data store associated with the first party;
- generating, using a commitment scheme, a cryptographically-protected form of the first set of numeric or other data, and storing said cryptographically-protected form at a first data store of the distributed ledger;
- storing the second set of textual or other data as a clear-text form within the private data store associated with the first party;
- and
- coordinating processing of the transaction and updating contents of the private data stores as a result of the transaction.
