Abstract
According to an embodiment, an image forming apparatus includes an image forming unit, an alarm, an external interface, and a processor. The image forming unit forms an image on a medium. The alarm notifies an error. The external interface connects to an external alert device. The processor transitions into a power saving mode in a case where an error occurs in the image forming unit, stops the alarm, and notifies the error by the external alert device connected to the external interface, and the processor stops the notification of the error by the external alert device in a case of returning from the power saving mode, and notifies the error by the alarm.
Claims20
An image forming apparatus comprising:
- an image forming unit configured to form an image on a medium;
- an alarm configured to notify an error;
- an external interface configured to be connected to an external alert device;
- and
- a processor configured to transition into a power saving mode in a case where an error occurs in the image forming unit, to stop the alarm, and to notify the error by the external alert device connected to the external interface, and configured to stop the notification of the error by the external alert device in a case of returning from the power saving mode, and to notify the error by the alarm.
An error alert method in an image forming apparatus including an image forming unit configured to form an image on a medium, an alarm, and an external interface configured to be connected to an external alert device, the method comprising:
- transitioning into a power saving mode in a case where an error occurs in the image forming unit, stopping the alarm, and notifying the error by the external alert device connected to the external interface;
- and
- stopping the notifying of the error by the external alert device in a case of returning from the power saving mode, and notifying the error by the alarm.
A non-transitory storage medium storing a program, the program causing a processor of an image forming apparatus including an image forming unit configured to form an image on a medium, an alarm, and an external interface configured to be connected to an external alert device, to execute:
- transitioning into a power saving mode in a case where an error occurs in the image forming unit, stopping the alarm, and notifying the error by the external alert device connected to the external interface;
- and
- stopping the notifying of the error by the external alert device in a case of returning from the power saving mode, and notifying the error by the alarm.
