Systems and associated methods for feature recognition

A non-transitory computer-readable medium having computer-executable instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to collectively:

• access a component design including a plurality of geometric features;
• determine values for geometric attributes associated with the respective geometric features of the component design;
• assign, using a machine learning classifier model, predefined names to the respective geometric features based on the values of the geometric attributes;
• and
• assign values for one or more parameters to the respective geometric features according to the assigned predefined names.

A method for feature recognition of design geometry comprising:

• training a machine learning classifier model with training data, wherein the training data includes values for geometric attributes and predefined names associated with a plurality of geometric features;
• accessing a component design including a plurality of geometric features;
• determining values for the geometric attributes associated with the respective geometric features of the component design;
• assigning, using the trained machine learning classifier model, the predefined names to the respective geometric features of the component design based on the values of the geometric attributes;
• and
• evaluating the component design based on the assigned predefined names.
