Browser extension for context gathering and code generation

A system comprising:

• one or more processors;
• and
• non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the system to perform operations comprising:
• injecting an interactive element into a webpage displayed in a web browser via a browser extension;
• in response to detecting a user interaction with the interactive element, gathering context information from the web browser, wherein the context information comprises content extracted from the webpage;
• identifying an instance of an integrated development environment (IDE) associated with a code repository corresponding to the webpage;
• transmitting the context information to the identified instance of the IDE;
• and
• invoking an artificial intelligence (AI) agent to generate a response based at least in part on the context information.

One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform operations comprising:

• detecting a user interaction with an interactive element injected into a webpage associated with a code repository, wherein the interactive element is injected via a browser extension;
• extracting context information from a web browser displaying the webpage;
• creating a transaction record on a backend server, wherein the transaction record stores the context information;
• transmitting a transaction identifier associated with the transaction record to an integrated development environment (IDE) plugin;
• retrieving the context information from the backend server using the transaction identifier;
• and
• causing an artificial intelligence (AI) agent to generate a code modification based at least in part on the retrieved context information.
