Abstract
Virtual storage devices include a first storage tier and a second storage tier having greater durability than the first storage tier. Data is stored in the first storage tier. A processing device migrates at least a portion of the data from the first storage tier to the second storage tier based on a storage condition.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- instantiating a plurality of virtual storage devices, the plurality of virtual storage devices including a first storage tier and a second storage tier having greater durability than the first storage tier;
- storing data in the first storage tier;
- and
- migrating, by a processing device, at least a portion of the data from the first storage tier to the second storage tier based on a storage condition.

An apparatus comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- a processing device, operatively coupled to the memory, configured to:
- instantiate a plurality of virtual storage devices, the plurality of virtual storage devices including a first storage tier and a second storage tier having greater durability than the first storage tier;
- store data in the first storage tier;
- and
- migrate at least a portion of the data from the first storage tier to the second storage tier based on a storage condition.
4 more elements
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions which, when executed, cause a processing device to:
- instantiate a plurality of virtual storage devices, the plurality of virtual storage devices including a first storage tier and a second storage tier having greater durability than the first storage tier;
- store data in the first storage tier;
- and
- migrate at least a portion of the data from the first storage tier to the second storage tier based on a storage condition.
