A method for device control, an electronic device, and a storage medium are provided. The method is applied to an electronic device with a touch display screen and includes the following. A first gesture is received. At least one icon is displayed on condition that the first gesture includes a preset trigger gesture, where each icon represents one window mode. Information of a target application is displayed in a target window mode on condition that a gesture end position of the first gesture is at a display position of an icon. The target application is an application corresponding to information displayed on the touch display screen when the first gesture is received. The target window mode is a window mode represented by the icon displayed at the gesture end position of the first gesture.
