Abstract
An electronic device and method of estimating a battery state are provided. The electronic device updates a degradation parameter that does not satisfy an update condition in addition to a degradation parameter capable of being updated at an estimation time point, determines parameter values of other parameters based on an updated parameter value of a selected target parameter, based on monitoring of a battery, estimates a battery state from a target parameter value and other parameter values, using a battery state estimation model, updates the other parameter values from the estimated battery state, and re-estimates the battery state.
Claims20
An electronic device comprising:
- a battery;
- one or more processors;
- and
- a memory storing instructions,
- wherein the instructions, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the electronic device to:
- store an updated parameter value of at least one target parameter selected from among a plurality of degradation parameters based on monitoring of the battery;
- determine parameter values of the other parameters based on the updated parameter value of the at least one target parameter;
- estimate a battery state of the battery based on the updated parameter value of the at least one target parameter and the determined parameter values of the other parameters, using a battery state estimation model;
- update the parameter values of the other parameters based on the estimated battery state;
- and
- determine an updated battery state based on the updated parameter value of the at least one target parameter and the updated parameter values of the other parameters.
A processor-implemented method, the method comprising:
- storing an updated parameter value of at least one target parameter selected from among a plurality of degradation parameters based on monitoring of a battery;
- determining parameter values of the other parameters based on the updated parameter value of the at least one target parameter;
- estimating a battery state of the battery from the updated parameter value of the at least one target parameter and the determined parameter values of the other parameters using a battery state estimation model;
- updating the parameter values of the other parameters based on the estimated battery state;
- determining an updated battery state based on the updated parameter value of the at least one target parameter and the updated parameter values of the other parameters.
