Abstract
A transducer unit for measuring force and torque on the wheels of a vehicle includes a plurality of measuring units in a housing that transmits the force and torque to the measuring units that generate an electric charge proportional to the force and torque. A feedthrough attached to the housing conducts the electrical charge outside of the housing. An additional feedthrough attached to the housing conducts additional electrical charge into the housing.
Claims15
A transducer unit for measuring at least one of a force and a torque on a wheel of a vehicle, the transducer unit comprising:
- a housing that defines an inside and an outside;
- a feedthrough attached to the housing and configured to conduct electrical charge from the inside to the outside of the housing;
- a plurality of measuring units disposed in the inside of said housing and configured to generate an electrical charge under the effect of the at least one of the force and the torque;
- a plurality of electrical conductors disposed in the inside of the housing and configured to conduct the electrical charge from the plurality of measuring units to the feedthrough;
- an additional feedthrough attached to the housing and configured to conduct additional electrical charge from the outside of the housing into the inside of the housing;
- and
- an additional electrical conductor disposed in the inside of the housing and configured to conduct the additional electrical charge from the additional feedthrough to the feedthrough.
A measuring wheel for measuring at least one of a force and a torque on a wheel of a vehicle on which the measuring wheel is mounted, the measuring wheel comprising:
- a plurality of transducer units;
- wherein each of the plurality of transducer units includes a housing that defines an inside and an outside, wherein each of the plurality of transducer units includes a plurality of measuring units disposed in the inside of the housing and configured to generate an electrical charge under the effect of at least one of the force and torque to be measured by the measuring wheel;
- wherein each of the plurality of transducer units includes a feedthrough attached to the housing and configured to conduct the electrical charge to the outside of the housing;
- a plurality of electrical conductors disposed in the inside of the housing and configured to conduct the electrical charge from the plurality of measuring units to the feedthrough;
- an additional feedthrough attached to the housing and configured to conduct an additional electrical charge from the outside of the housing into the inside of the housing;
- and
- an additional electrical conductor disposed in the inside of the housing and configured to conduct the additional electrical charge from the additional feedthrough to the feedthrough.
