Mounting device for mounting an item to a panel

A mounting device that is configured to be coupled to a panel, the mounting device comprising:

• a mounting bolt comprising a head and a shank that is provided with external threading, and an end face of the head of the mounting bolt is provided with a mounting point that is configured to receive and retain a fastener for mounting an item to the panel;
• a fixing component comprising a nut having a threaded bore that is engageable with the external threading of the shank of the mounting bolt and at least one arm pivotably mounted to the fixing component and alterable between an insertable condition and an engageable condition, wherein in the insertable condition the fixing component is insertable through an aperture in said panel from a first side of said panel, and in the engageable condition at least one arm is engageable with a second side of the panel;
• and
• a washer having:
• a hollow body that is configured to be received within the aperture in the panel;
• at least one engagement formation that is configured to resist movement of the washer through the aperture in the panel;
• at least one engagement surface configured to be engaged by an underside of the head of the mounting bolt in order to prevent the head of the mounting bolt from passing through the hollow body;
• wherein:
• the head of the mounting bolt is configured to be at least partially received within the hollow body of the washer when the underside of the head of the mounting bolt engages the engagement surface.
