Abstract
A portable pump including a pump comprising a motor configured to drive an impeller; a pump inlet comprising inlet holes configured to fluidly couple the impeller to a fluid upon the pump inlet contacting the fluid; a handle assembly; a pole assembly coupling the pump to the handle assembly, wherein a length of the pole assembly is adjustable; and a pump outlet coupled to the pole assembly between the motor and the handle assembly, wherein the impeller is configured to bias the fluid from the pump inlet to discharge at the pump outlet.
Claims20
A portable pump comprising:
- a pump comprising a motor configured to drive an impeller;
- a pump inlet comprising inlet holes configured to fluidly couple the impeller to a fluid upon the pump inlet contacting the fluid;
- a handle assembly;
- a pole assembly coupling the pump to the handle assembly, wherein a length of the pole assembly is adjustable;
- and
- a pump outlet coupled to the pole assembly between the motor and the handle assembly, wherein the impeller is configured to bias the fluid from the pump inlet to discharge at the pump outlet.
A portable pump comprising:
- a pump comprising a motor configured to drive an impeller;
- a pump inlet comprising inlet holes configured to fluidly couple the impeller to a fluid upon the pump inlet contacting the fluid;
- a power source mounting interface configured to attach to a power source;
- a cable assembly extending from the motor to the power source mounting interface;
- a pole assembly coupling the pump to the power source mounting interface, wherein a length of the pole assembly is adjustable;
- and
- a pump outlet coupled to the pole assembly between the motor and the power source mounting interface, wherein the impeller is configured to bias the fluid from the pump inlet to discharge at the pump outlet.
A method of using a portable pump, the method comprising:
- adjusting a length of a pole assembly coupling a pump inlet to a pump outlet;
- inserting the pump inlet into a fluid, wherein an impeller of the portable pump is fluidly coupled to the fluid upon the pump inlet contacting the fluid;
- activating one or more control elements at a handle assembly to trigger a switch;
- energizing a motor to rotate the impeller in response to triggering the switch;
- and
- outputting the fluid through the pump outlet.
