Abstract

The disclosure relates generally to methods, systems, and apparatuses for assembling prefabricated wall panels, such as prefabricated wall panels constructed with a layer of insulation. The insulated wall panel system includes a first wall panel having an extended portion, a second wall panel having a recessed portion configured to receive the extended portion of the first wall panel. The wall panel system includes wall panel clips disposed between the first wall extended portion and the second wall panel recessed portion. The wall panel clip including a first web member and a second web member extending at an angle from the first web member. The first web member middle portion and the first and second end portion of the second web member include a through holes extending therethrough. The wall panel system may use fasteners configured to connect the wall panel clip in different orientations to assembly the wall panels.

Dependent claims

A wall panel system comprising:

two or more wall panels, comprising at least a first wall panel and a second wall panel, and wherein each wall panel comprises:
a front face;
and
insulation coupled to the front face;
a male end;
and
a female end;
one or more wall panel clips, wherein a wall panel clip comprises:
a first web member;
and
a second web member extending at an angle from the first web member at an intersection;
one or more internal fasteners;
and
one or more face fasteners;
wherein the one or more wall panel clips extend around at least a portion of a first male end of the first wall panel;
wherein the one or more internal fasteners extend through the one or more wall panel clips, the first male end of the first wall panel, and into a support structure;
wherein a second female end of the second wall panel is coupled to the first male end of the first wall panel by the one or more face fasteners that extend through at least a portion of the second female end of the second wall panel, the one or more wall panel clips, and the first male end of the first wall panel.

A method of installing a wall panel system, wherein the wall panel system comprises two or more wall panels comprising at least a first wall panel and a second wall panel, and wherein each wall panel comprises a front face, insulation coupled to the front face, a male end, and a female end;

one or more wall panel clips, wherein a wall panel clip comprises a first web member, and a second web member extending at an angle from the first web member at an intersection;
one or more internal fasteners, and one or more face fasteners, wherein the method comprises:
assembling the first wall panel to a support structure;
assembling the one or more wall panel clips to the first wall panel around at least a portion of a first male end of the first wall panel;
assembling the one or more internal fasteners through the one or more wall panel clips, the first male end of the first wall panel, and into the support structure;
assembling the second wall panel to the first wall panel and the support structure, wherein a second female end of the second wall panel is coupled to the first male end of the first wall panel by the one or more face fasteners that extend through at least a portion of the second female end of the second wall panel, the one or more wall panel clips, and the first male end of the first wall panel.
