Abstract
A ventilated structural panel comprising a first sheet, having a long axis defining a length and a perpendicular short axis defining a width, a plurality of spacing structural elements, fixedly attached to the first sheet such that the yield strength of the panel is greater than the individual yield strength of the first sheet, and the plurality of spacing structural elements being formed such that a plurality of unobstructed pathways are created for air to move from at least one edge of the panel to at least one of an opposite and an adjacent edge of the panel, wherein the first sheet is the only sheet in the panel.

A ventilated structural panel comprising:
- a first sheet, having a long axis defining a length and a perpendicular short axis defining a width;
- a second sheet, parallel to the first sheet;
- a matrix of spacing members fixedly attached to and connecting the first sheet and the second sheet to form a panel such that the yield strength of the panel is greater than a sum of individual yield strengths of the first sheet and the second sheet;
- and
- the matrix of spacing members defining a plurality of unobstructed pathways for air to move from at least one edge of the panel to an opposite edge of the panel along both the long axis and the short axis.
A ventilated structural panel comprising:
- a first sheet, having edges that define a horizontal axis with a first horizontal edge and a second horizontal edge, and vertical axis with a first vertical edge and a second vertical edge, the first sheet having first planar dimensions;
- a second sheet having second planar dimensions substantially the same as the first planar dimensions and having edges that define a horizontal axis and vertical axis, with a first horizontal edge and a second horizontal edge and a first vertical edge and a second vertical edge;
- the first and the second sheet being parallel in plane and matched in at least one of the vertical axis and the horizontal axis;
- a truss web comprised of a plurality of structural elements integral with at least one of the first sheet and the second sheet, the truss web fixedly attaching a surface of the first sheet with a surface of the second sheet such that a strength of the combined panel is greater than a combined individual strengths of the first sheet and the second sheet;
- spacing between structural elements of the truss web in a same layer defining at least two linear pathways, each pathway measuring in height substantially at least one half of the distance separating the two sheets, each pathway allowing air to move unobstructed from at least one edge of the panel to at least one opposite edge of the panel, the flow of air through least one first pathway being perpendicular to a flow of air through at least one second pathway;
- the first and the second sheets each being between 0.25 inches and 0.75 inches in thickness and being between 3.5 and 5.5 feet by between 6.5 and 8.5 feet in planar dimensions.
