Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a continuous process for converting a plastic material containing a polyurethane. In some embodiments, the continuous process may include providing a reaction mixture, wherein the reaction mixture comprises a plastic material in solid form and containing a polyurethane, and further an aqueous medium, optionally containing a reaction additive, wherein in the reaction mixture the mass ratio between the water of the aqueous medium and polyurethane is not more than 0.6 to 1 and is pressure-/heat-treated at >1 bar to 60 bar at 180-270° C. in a reactor tapered at least at an end region. The method may further include transporting the reaction mixture under pressure and removal of gaseous components via at least one degassing point and in or after an evaporation zone, and recovery of the reaction mixture which has been pressure- and heat-treated and freed of gaseous components.
A continuous process for the conversion of a plastic material containing a polyurethane, comprising the following steps:
The process according to claim, characterized in that the volume ratio between solid and aqueous medium is 100:1 to 5:1.
The process according to claim, characterized in that the aqueous medium contains a reaction additive which is selected from nitric acid, a carboxylic acid, a dicarboxylic acid, in particular adipic acid, a tricarboxylic acid, in particular citric acid, and/or urea and/or a biological material.
