Abstract
The embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a charging station and a method of charging a robot, that is configured to charge a robot and at least one of function modules detachably coupled to the robot, the charging station including a station body placed on the ground to that the robot may approach; a robot charging unit coupled to the station body to be rotatably relative to the station body and configured to supply power to the robot and charge it, if electrically connected to the robot; and a function module charging unit detachably coupled to the station body and configured to supply power to the function module and charge it, if electrically connected to the function module.
Claims12
A charging station configured to charge a robot and at least one of function modules detachably coupled to the robot, the charging station comprising:
- a station body placed on the ground to that the robot may approach;
- a robot charging unit rotatably coupled to the station body to rotate relative thereto and configured to supply power to the robot and charge it, if electrically connected to the robot;
- and
- a function module charging unit detachably coupled to the station body and configured to supply power to the function module and charge it, if electrically connected to the function module.
A charging station configured to charge a robot and at least one of function modules detachably coupled to the robot, the charging station comprising:
- a station body placed on the ground to that the robot may approach;
- and
- a robot charging unit rotatably coupled to the station body to rotate relative thereto and configured to supply power to the robot and charge it, if electrically connected to the robot,
- wherein the robot charging unit comprises,
- a charging unit body on which the robot is mounted and configured to rotate by the rotation of the motor;
- a rotating member configured to rotate in a first direction with respect to the charging unit body, if a load of the robot is applied to one side of the rotating member;
- a power supply terminal arranged on the other side of the rotating member and configured to be connected to the charging terminal of the robot, if the rotating member is rotated in the first direction;
- and
- an elastic member configured to provide elasticity to the rotating member so that the rotating member rotates in a second direction which is the opposite direction to the first direction.
A method of charging a robot, that is performed by a robot system comprising a robot and a charging station configured to supply power to the robot, comprising:
- an entry step in which a wheel of the robot moves to approach the charging station and climbs onto the station body of the charging station;
- a coupling step in which a charging terminal of the robot and a power supply terminal of the charging station are electrically connected to each other so that power is supplied to the robot when the robot is mounted on the charging station;
- a raising step in which the wheel is raised to a set height so that the wheel is separated from the station body by a set distance;
- and
- a rotation step in which the robot charging unit of the charging station rotates together with the robot and changes the direction in which a front side of the robot faces by 180 degrees.
