Abstract
A printer includes a roller that conveys a recording medium; a motor that rotates the roller; a print head that prints receipts on the recording medium conveyed by the roller; a storage device that stores receipt length information including receipt lengths of a predetermined number of printed receipts; a memory; and a processor configured to execute a program that is stored in the memory to perform the steps of: calculating a representative receipt length based on the receipt lengths in the receipt length information, determining a maximum conveying speed of the recording medium for a receipt to be printed based on the representative receipt length, and controlling the motor to rotate the roller to convey the recording medium based on the maximum conveying speed.
Claims20
A printer comprising:
- a roller that conveys a recording medium;
- a motor that rotates the roller;
- a print head that prints receipts on the recording medium conveyed by the roller;
- a storage device that stores receipt length information including receipt lengths of a predetermined number of printed receipts;
- a memory;
- and
- a processor configured to execute a program that is stored in the memory to perform the steps of:
- calculating a representative receipt length based on the receipt lengths in the receipt length information,
- determining a maximum conveying speed of the recording medium for a receipt to be printed based on the representative receipt length, and
- controlling the motor to rotate the roller to convey the recording medium based on the maximum conveying speed.
A method performed by a printer including a roller that conveys a recording medium and a print head that prints receipts on the recording medium conveyed by the roller, the method comprising:
- calculating a representative receipt length based on receipt lengths of a predetermined number of printed receipts included in receipt length information stored in the printer;
- determining a maximum conveying speed of the recording medium for a receipt to be printed based on the representative receipt length;
- and
- rotating the roller to convey the recording medium based on the maximum conveying speed.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing a program for causing a processor of a printer to perform a process,
- the printer including a roller that conveys a recording medium and a print head that prints receipts on the recording medium conveyed by the roller,
- the process including:
- calculating a representative receipt length based on receipt lengths of a predetermined number of printed receipts included in receipt length information stored in the printer;
- determining a maximum conveying speed of the recording medium for a receipt to be printed based on the representative receipt length;
- and
- rotating the roller to convey the recording medium based on the maximum conveying speed.
