Continuous casting equipment

Continuous casting equipment for manufacturing a composite metallic product, the continuous casting equipment comprising:

• a nozzle;
• a tundish;
• and a mold;
• the nozzle being located between the tundish and the mold, the nozzle including:
• an upper part disposed downstream of the tundish with respect to a direction of travel of the liquid metal;
• a dome disposed at an inlet of the upper part, the dome having a splitter for splitting an initial stream of liquid metal into at least two separate streams;
• an internal wall located below the dome, creating at least two mixing chambers, the separate streams of liquid metal flowing respectively in each of the at least two mixing chambers;
• an injector for injecting powder through the dome into at least one of the at least two mixing chambers to allow mixing with the liquid metal flowing into the respective mixing chamber;
• and
• a lower part composed of at least a central channel and side channels, extending from the upper part into the mold, the central and side channels allowing the liquid metal to flow into the mold through at least one outlet for each of the central and side channels, wherein the central channel is connected to one of the at least two mixing chambers, and the side channels are connected to at least one other of the at least two mixing chambers, the side channels being longer than the central channel.
