Abstract
A fire apparatus includes: a chassis; a tractive element coupled to the chassis; a front cabin coupled to the chassis; a body coupled to the chassis and positioned rearward of the front cabin, the body defining a storage compartment; a control panel coupled to the body and positioned such that the storage compartment extends beneath the control panel, the control panel including a control lever; a controllable element coupled to the chassis; and a linkage coupling the control lever to the controllable element, the linkage extending around the storage compartment.
Claims20
A fire apparatus, comprising:
- a chassis;
- a tractive element coupled to the chassis;
- a front cabin coupled to the chassis;
- a body coupled to the chassis and positioned rearward of the front cabin, the body defining a storage compartment;
- a control panel coupled to the body and positioned such that the storage compartment extends beneath the control panel, the control panel including a control lever;
- a controllable element coupled to the chassis;
- and
- a linkage coupling the control lever to the controllable element, the linkage extending around the storage compartment.
A fire apparatus, comprising:
- a chassis;
- a tractive element coupled to the chassis;
- a front cabin coupled to the chassis;
- a control panel including a control lever;
- a controllable element coupled to the chassis;
- and
- a linkage coupling the control lever to the controllable element, wherein the linkage includes:
- a first section coupled to the control lever and extending away from the control lever in a first longitudinal direction;
- a second section coupled to the first section and extending downward from the first section;
- and
- a third section coupled to the second section and the controllable element and extending away from the second section in a second longitudinal direction opposite the first longitudinal direction.
A fire apparatus, comprising:
- a chassis;
- a front cabin coupled to the chassis;
- a body coupled to the chassis and positioned rearward of the front cabin, the body defining a storage compartment accessible from a lateral side of the body;
- a platform positioned between the front cabin and the body and configured to support an operator;
- a control panel coupled to the body and positioned such that the storage compartment extends beneath the control panel, the control panel including a control lever pivotably coupled to the body;
- a pump system coupled to the chassis and configured to provide a flow of pressurized fluid;
- and
- a linkage coupling the control lever to the pump system, the linkage extending around the storage compartment, wherein the linkage includes:
- a first link pivotably coupled to the control lever and extending rearward from the control lever;
- a second link pivotably coupled to the first link and extending downward from the first link;
- and
- a third link pivotably coupled to the first link and extending forward from the second link toward the pump system.
