An improved catheter system comprising a catheter having a discharge outlet connected to a first coupling device and a flexible tube connected to a second coupling device with a collection device. One of the first and the second coupling devices comprises a male sleeve and the other of the first and the second coupling devices comprising a female sleeve. The female sleeve is sized to receive and form a fluid tight seal with the male sleeve. The first coupling device carries a first connection mechanism while the second coupling device carries a mating second connection mechanism. The connection mechanism facilitates connection and disconnection of the first and the second coupling devices from one another by simultaneously disconnecting the first and the second portions of the connection mechanism and sliding the first and the second coupling devices relative to and out of engagement with one another.
