Abstract
Disclosed are methods and systems for improving treatment efficacy of circulatory and neurological disorders. Stacked sensory inputs are used to stimulate vascular endothelium to release nitric oxide, counteract endothelial dysfunction, and promote vasodilation. Combining vibration with administration of one or more therapeutic modalities provides for synergistic effects on treatment of circulatory and neurological disorders.
Claims24
A method for treating a neurological disorder in a patient in need thereof, the method comprising:
- subjecting the patient to a vibroacoustic therapy for a period of time;
- and
- administering at least one other therapeutic modality to the patient, wherein the at least one other therapeutic modality comprises a therapeutic agent clinically indicated for treatment of the neurological disorder, wherein the at least one other therapeutic modality is not vibrational or light-based, and wherein the administration of the at least one therapeutic modality occurs before, during, or after the vibroacoustic therapy.

A system for treating a neurological disorder in a patient in need thereof, the system comprising:
- an apparatus configured to deliver to the patient a vibroacoustic therapy of an appropriate frequency, amplitude, and duration to increase transfer across the patient's blood-brain barrier;
- and
- at least one other therapeutic modality for treating the neurological disorder, wherein the at least one other therapeutic modality comprises a therapeutic agent clinically indicated for treatment of the neurological disorder, and wherein the at least one other therapeutic modality is not vibrational or light-based.
