Abstract
Chitosan and/or chitin-glucan for use in the prevention or the treatment of an inflammatory intestinal disease affecting a mammalian patient, the corresponding kit of part and the uses for protecting Vitamin D, or for the prevention and/or treatment of Candida biofilms or gluten-induced inflammations.

A method of preventing or treating an inflammatory intestinal disease in a mammalian patient, the method comprising:
- administering a composition comprising an ingredient selected from the group consisting of chitosan, chitin-glucan, and a combination thereof to the mammalian patient in need thereof.
A kit for preventing or treating an inflammatory intestinal disease in a mammalian patient, comprising a first ingredient selected from the group consisting of chitin glucan, chitosan, and any combination thereof and a second ingredient selected from the group consisting of vitamin D, a probiotic, and any combination thereof.
A method for prevention or treatment of a problematic colonization involving a biofilm formation, excessive mucosal colonization, or any combination thereof, the method comprising:
- administering a pharmaceutical composition comprising an ingredient selected from the group consisting of chitosan, chitin-glucan, and any combination thereof;
- wherein the problematic colonization is by a yeast selected from a group consisting of a Candida sp., the Candida sp. preferably being Candida albicans, Candida glabrata, Candida krusei, or any combination thereof.
