Abstract
A composite coating is formed from NaMgF3 nanoparticles and a protein on an magnesium-based biomaterial, by immersing the biomaterial in a solution of the NaF and the protein. The composite coated biomaterial may be used as a surgical implant, such as in dental implant surgery.
Claims11
A composite coating comprising an inorganic component comprising NaMgF3 nanoparticles and a protein component comprising a water soluble, globular protein.
A method of forming a composite coating on an Mg-based biomaterial, comprising the step of contacting the biomaterial with a solution of NaF and water soluble, globular protein.
