Abstract
A brewer for preparing a beverage, the brewer comprising a receptacle receiving portion configured to receive a beverage receptacle, and a receptacle-type sensor. The receptacle-type sensor is configured to detect a presence of an identification feature of a beverage receptacle received by the receptacle receiving portion. The brewer is configured to adapt its operation upon such detection. A kit with such a brewer and at least one beverage receptacle, which may comprise an identification feature, and a method for controlling a brewer.

A brewer for preparing a beverage, the brewer comprising
- a receptacle receiving portion configured to receive a beverage receptacle, and
- a receptacle-type sensor,
- wherein the receptacle-type sensor is configured to detect a presence of an identification feature of a beverage receptacle received by the receptacle receiving portion, and
- wherein the brewer is configured to adapt its operation when an identification feature is detected by a receptacle-type sensor.
A method for controlling a brewer for preparing a beverage, wherein the brewer comprises a receptacle receiving portion, and a receptacle-type sensor, wherein the method comprises:
- the receptacle-type sensor detecting a presence of an identification feature of a beverage receptacle received by the receptacle receiving portion, and
- the brewer adapting its operation upon detection of an identification feature by the receptacle-type sensor.
