Abstract
An image reading device includes a reading section configured to read a document; a transport section configured to transport the document in a transport direction along a transport path T, and a removal section provided upstream of the reading section in the transport direction, wherein the removal section has a first removal section configured to remove foreign matter on a first surface of the document and a second removal section configured to remove foreign matter on a second surface opposite to the first surface.

An image reading device comprising:
- a reading section configured to read a document;
- a transport section configured to transport the document in a transport direction along a transport path;

- a removal section provided upstream of the reading section in the transport direction, wherein
