Abstract
Described herein are compositions and methods to be used in controlling pests, such as arthropods, nematodes, helminths, insect pests, internal parasites, and external parasites. Such compositions make use of at least a blend of one or more essential oils and, optionally, additional components, such as surfactants, emulsifiers, solvents, additives, and inerts. Compositions can be applied to a variety of locations to control pests or can also be added into feed or foodstuffs to afford internal pest control.

An emulsion comprising:
- a. one or more essential oils selected from geraniol, citronella oil, cedarwood oil, cornmint oil, clove oil, eugenol, peppermint oil, thyme oil, castor oil, thymol, rosemary oil, cinnamon oil, lemongrass oil, spearmint oil, and citronellol;
- b. one or more detergents selected from sodium lauryl sulfate and soap;
- c. one or more solvents selected from butyl lactate, isopropanol, isopropyl myristate, glycerin, ethyl lactate, water, and white mineral oil;
- and
- d. one or more emulsifiers selected from polyglyceryl oleate, polyglyceryl stearate, and glyceryl monooleate.

An emulsion comprising:
- a. geraniol;
- b. one or more additional essential oils selected from citronella oil, cedarwood oil, cornmint oil, clove oil, eugenol, peppermint oil, thyme oil, castor oil, thymol, rosemary oil, cinnamon oil, lemongrass oil, spearmint oil, and citronellol;
- c. one or more solvents selected from butyl lactate, isopropanol, isopropyl myristate, glycerin, ethyl lactate, water, and white mineral oil;
- and
- d. one or more emulsifiers selected from polyglyceryl oleate, polyglyceryl stearate, and glyceryl monooleate.
