Abstract
The disclosure relates to a cotton variety, designated 11PEQP59, the plants and seeds of the cotton variety 11PEQP59, methods for producing a cotton plant, either varietal or hybrid, produced by crossing the cotton variety 11PEQP59 with itself or with another cotton plant, hybrid cotton seeds and plants produced by crossing the variety 11PEQP59 with another cotton variety or plan, methods for producing a cotton plant containing in its genetic material one or more transgenes, and the transgenic cotton plants produced by that method. This disclosure also relates to cotton varieties derived from cotton variety 11PEQP59, to methods for producing other cotton varieties derived from cotton variety 11PEQP59, and to the varieties derived by the use of those methods.

A method for producing a cotton plant, comprising:
- a) crossing cotton variety plant 11PEQP59, representative seed of the variety having been deposited under NCMA Accession No. ______ on ______, with another different cotton plant to yield progeny cotton seed.
A method of introducing a desired trait into cotton variety 11PEQP59, representative seed of the variety having been deposited under NCMA Accession No. ______ on ______, comprising:
- a) crossing 11PEQP59 plants with plants of another cotton variety that comprise a desired trait to produce F1 progeny plants;
- b) selecting F1 progeny plants that have the desired trait;
- c) crossing selected progeny plants with 11PEQP59 plants to produce backcross progeny plants;
- d) selecting for backcross progeny plants that comprise the desired trait and physiological and morphological characteristics of cotton variety 11PEQP59;
- and
- e) performing steps (c) and (d) one or more times in succession to produce selected or higher backcross progeny plants that comprise the desired trait and all of the physiological and morphological characteristics of cotton variety 11PEQP59 listed in Table 1 as determined at the 5% significance level when grown in the same environmental conditions.
