Abstract
The disclosure relates to a distinctive phenotype in cucumber (Cucumis sativus) characterized by small prime fruit and a greater number of fruit. Polymorphisms associated with the quantitative traits responsible for the phenotype and methods of breeding with various lines disclosed herein to transfer the traits to other cucumber varieties are also disclosed.
Claims17
A cucumber plant, plant part, or plant cell comprising recessive quantitative trait loci conferring a phenotype characterized by small prime cucumber fruit and a greater number of fruit, wherein the phenotype is associated with at least one polymorphisms selected from Table 4, and wherein the quantitative traits responsible for is the phenotype are present in the genomes of representative cucumber plants deposited as:
- NCIMB Accession No. 44490, NCIMB Accession No. 44525, and NCIMB Accession No. 44526.
