The method is applied to a battery cell identification system, and the identification system comprises: a camera, an industrial personal computer, and a production execution system. The method comprises: when the camera reaches a preset photography position, the camera photographs a battery cell to be identified, to obtain image data, and sends the image data to the industrial personal computer; the industrial personal computer performs image processing on the image data to obtain an identifier of said battery cell, and sends the identifier to the production execution system; and the production execution system determines an identification result of said battery cell on the basis of production information in the identifier.
