Image rendering method based on variable rate shading and electronic device

An electronic device, comprising:

• a non-transitory memory configured to store computer program instructions;
• a processor configured to execute the computer program instructions, to trigger the electronic device to perform the steps of:
• determining an occlusion region and a non-occlusion region in a to-be-displayed image of a first application, wherein the occlusion region is an occluded region in the to-be-displayed image, and the non-occlusion region is a region that is not occluded in the to-be-displayed image;
• and
• rendering the to-be-displayed image based on variable rate shading, to generate a display image of the first application, wherein the occlusion region is rendered based on at least a first shading rate, the non-occlusion region is rendered based on at least a second shading rate, and the first shading rate is less than the second shading rate.
