Providing Media Items from Playback History

At least one non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising program instructions that are executable by at least one processor such that a control device is configured to:

• maintain playback data representing a portion of a playback history for a media playback system comprising multiple playback devices connected to a local area network, the playback history indicating media items played back by the multiple playback devices;
• display, within a control interface on a touch-screen graphical display, selectable controls selectable to select among multiple contexts, the multiple contexts comprising a first context and a second context;
• receive, via the touch-screen graphical display, input data representing a selection of the first context from among the multiple contexts;
• when the first context is selected within the control interface, display, within the control interface, first selectable indications of first recently-played media items corresponding to the first context, wherein second selectable indications of second recently-played media items corresponding to the second context are displayed when the second context is selected within the control interface;
• receive a selection of one or more particular media items from among the first recently-played media items;
• and
• send, via a network interface over the local area network to a particular playback device of the multiple playback devices, instructions to queue the selected one or more particular media items for playback.

A method for a control device, the method comprising:

• maintaining playback data representing a portion of a playback history for a media playback system comprising multiple playback devices connected to a local area network, the playback history indicating media items played back by the multiple playback devices;
• displaying, within a control interface on a touch-screen graphical display, selectable controls selectable to select among multiple contexts, the multiple contexts comprising a first context and a second context;
• receiving, via the touch-screen graphical display, input data representing a selection of the first context from among the multiple contexts;
• when the first context is selected within the control interface, displaying, within the control interface, first selectable indications of first recently-played media items corresponding to the first context, wherein second selectable indications of second recently-played media items corresponding to the second context are displayed when the second context is selected within the control interface;
• receiving a selection of one or more particular media items from among the first recently-played media items;
• and
• sending, via a network interface over the local area network to a particular playback device of the multiple playback devices, instructions to queue the selected one or more particular media items for playback.
