Abstract
Implementations of the present disclosure disclose an electronic system, a memory system and an method of operating thereof. The electronic system includes a host and a memory system that supports a flexible data placement function; the memory system includes a memory controller and a memory device coupled to the memory controller; the host is configured to: send a first command; the first command carries information related to a relative lifetime of data written by a specified reclaim unit handle; the memory controller is configured to: receive the first command; and perform a garbage collection operation on the data written by the specified reclaim unit handle based on the information related to the relative lifetime.
Claims20
An electronic system, comprising:
- a host configured to send a first command, wherein the first command carries information related to a relative lifetime of data written by a specified reclaim unit handle;
- and
- a memory system supporting a flexible data placement function and comprising:
- a memory device;
- and
- a memory controller coupled to the memory device and configured to:
- receive the first command;
- and
- perform a garbage collection operation on the data written by the specified reclaim unit handle based on the information related to the relative lifetime.
A method of operating a memory system, wherein the memory system supports a flexible data placement function, and the method comprises:
- receiving a first command, wherein the first command carries information related to a relative lifetime of data written by a specified reclaim unit handle;
- and
- performing a garbage collection operation on the data written by the specified reclaim unit handle based on the information related to the relative lifetime.
A memory system supporting a flexible data placement function, comprising:
- a memory controller configured to:
- receive a first command, wherein the first command carries information related to a relative lifetime of data written by a specified reclaim unit handle;
- and
- perform a garbage collection operation on the data written by the specified reclaim unit handle based on the information related to the relative lifetime;
- and
- a memory device coupled to the memory controller.
