Backup and recovery for computing objects with hierarchical page structures

An apparatus, comprising:

• one or more memories storing processor-executable code;
• and
• one or more processors coupled with the one or more memories and individually or collectively operable to execute the code to cause the apparatus to:
• receive, by a data management system, a request to back up a software-as-a-service application comprising a set of computing objects, wherein computing objects within the set of computing objects comprise respective sets of pages;
• output, via an application programming interface and as part of a backup procedure, a second request for a set of pages within a first computing object;
• obtain, in response to the request, an indication of a first subset of the set of pages;
• halt the backup procedure of the set of pages, wherein a first completion time associated with a first snapshot including the first subset of the set of pages is based at least in part on halting the backup procedure;
• output, via the application programming interface and based at least in part on the first completion time associated with the first snapshot, a third request for a second subset of the set of pages within the first computing object, wherein the second subset of the set of pages comprises remaining pages in the set of pages not included in the first snapshot;
• and
• obtain, in response to the third request, an indication of the second subset of the set of pages.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing code, the code comprising instructions executable by one or more processors to:

• receive, by a data management system, a request to back up a software-as-a-service application comprising a set of computing objects, wherein computing objects within the set of computing objects comprise respective sets of pages;
• output, via an application programming interface and as part of a backup procedure, a second request for a set of pages within a first computing object;
• obtain, in response to the request, an indication of a first subset of the set of pages;
• halt the backup procedure of the set of pages, wherein a first completion time associated with a first snapshot including the first subset of the set of pages is based at least in part on halting the backup procedure;
• output, via the application programming interface and based at least in part on the first completion time associated with the first snapshot, a third request for a second subset of the set of pages within the first computing object, wherein the second subset of the set of pages comprises remaining pages in the set of pages not included in the first snapshot;
• and
• obtain, in response to the third request, an indication of the second subset of the set of pages.
