Alerts Manager

A system for managing alerts and monitoring a process, the system comprising:

• a digital processor communicatively coupled to an asset management tool, the digital processor configured to:
• receive multiple alerts regarding a process at a given plant, each alert being based on measurements generated by a corresponding set of sensors of the given plant;
• for pairs of the received multiple alerts, automatically calculate a similarity score based on the corresponding set of sensors of the pairs of the received multiple alerts, resulting in calculated similarity scores across the received multiple alerts;
• and
• categorize, based on the calculated similarity scores, different alerts of the received multiple alerts into at least one group of alerts;
• and
• generate an output indicative of the at least one group of alerts in a manner enabling increased accuracy in interpreting alerts and in monitoring the process at the given plants.

A non-transitory computer-readable data storage medium comprising instructions to cause a computer to:

• receive multiple alerts regarding a process at a given plant, each alert being based on measurements generated by a corresponding set of sensors of the given plant;
• for pairs of the received multiple alerts, automatically calculate a similarity score based on the corresponding set of sensors of the pairs of the received multiple alerts, resulting in calculated similarity scores across the received multiple alerts;
• categorize, based on the calculated similarity scores, different alerts of the received multiple alerts into at least one group of alerts;
• and
• generate an output indicative of the at least one group of alerts in a manner enabling increased accuracy in interpreting alerts and in monitoring the process at the given plants.
