Application multi-window display method and electronic device

An electronic device, comprising a memory and a processor, wherein the memory is configured to store a computer program that, when executed by the processor, enables the electronic device to perform operations including:

• receiving a first operation to start an application that supports an app multiplier mode, the app multiplier mode comprises a first window and a second window, the first window corresponds to a component started by the application, and the second window corresponds to a component created by a system of the electronic device;
• in response to the first operation, creating an activity object and starting the component created by the system, wherein the activity object comprises a process name and a unique identifier of the application;
• and
• starting, in a process of the application based on the process name and the unique identifier of the application in the activity object, the component created by the system.
