Battery management apparatus and method

A battery management method, comprising:

• generating a negative electrode profile for each battery of a plurality of batteries using a reference profile and a charging and discharging profile for each battery of the plurality of batteries;
• generating a plurality of negative electrode change ratios, each negative electrode change ratio comparing the negative electrode profile of a battery of the plurality of batteries to a reference negative electrode profile;
• calculating a relative difference between a first negative electrode change ratio of the plurality of negative electrode change ratios and a second negative electrode change ratio of the plurality of negative electrode change ratios;
• and
• diagnosing a state of the plurality of batteries using the relative difference.

A battery management apparatus, comprising:

• a reference information storage unit configured to store a reference profile including a reference negative electrode profile;
• a profile generating unit configured to generate a negative electrode profile for each battery of a plurality of batteries using the reference profile and a charging and discharging profile for each battery of the plurality of batteries;
• a characteristic information generating unit configured to generate a plurality of negative electrode change ratios, each negative electrode change ratio comparing the negative electrode profile of a battery of the plurality of batteries to the reference negative electrode profile;
• and
• a diagnosing unit configured to diagnose a state of the plurality of batteries using the plurality of negative electrode change ratios.

A battery management method, comprising:

• generating a negative electrode profile for each battery of a plurality of batteries using a reference profile and a charging and discharging profile for each battery of the plurality of batteries;
• generating a plurality of negative electrode change ratios, each negative electrode change ratio comparing the negative electrode profile of a battery of the plurality of batteries to a reference negative electrode profile;
• and
• diagnosing a state of the plurality of batteries using the plurality of negative electrode change ratios.
