Abstract
The present disclosure provides methods and systems for analyte detection. The system may comprise a chip. The chip may comprise an array of non-uniform features. A feature of the array of non-uniform features may comprise an electrical insulator or a semiconductor. The feature may further comprise a nanogap.
Claims134
A method of determining an identity of an analyte, comprising:
- (a) providing a system comprising:
- (i) chip comprising a resonator comprising a nanogap, wherein said nanogap comprises said analyte,
- (ii) a light source, and
- (iii) a detector;
- (b) illuminating said resonator using light from said light source, wherein said resonator concentrates a field of said light into said nanogap;
- (c) detecting, using said detector, an emission light generated by an interaction of said field with said analyte;
- and
- (d) processing said emission light or a derivative there of to determine said identity of said analyte.
A chip for analyzing a biological sample, said chip comprising an array of non-uniform features, wherein a feature of said array of non-uniform features comprises an electrical insulator or a semiconductor, wherein said feature comprises a nanogap.
A method of detecting or identifying an analyte in a biological sample, comprising:
- (a) providing said biological sample on a chip comprising a resonator comprising a nanogap;
- (b) exposing said chip to a first light from a light source, such that said first light interacts with said resonator and is further concentrated in said nanogap;
- (c) detecting a second light from said resonator subsequent to said resonator being exposed to said first light;
- and
- (d) using said second light to detect or identify said analyte.
A label-free method for detecting an analyte, comprising providing a chip comprising said analyte, wherein said analyte is label-free, and using light to detect an identity of said analyte at a sensitivity of at least 80%, a specificity of at least 80%, or an accuracy of at least 80%.
