Abstract
A system for a PPE device is disclosed that includes an infrared camera that captures an image sequence of a user wearing the PPE device. The system also includes a gas profile generator that analyzes the image sequence and generates a gas profile of the PPE device. The system also includes an analyzer that determines a status of the PPE device based on the gas profile. The system also includes a communication component that communicates the status.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- detecting an exhalation of a wearer in an infrared image sequence captured by an infrared camera having a carbon dioxide filter;
- selecting frames from an initial portion of the exhalation;
- generating a carbon dioxide gas flow profile of a PPE worn by the wearer based on the selected frames;
- and
- classifying seal quality of the PPE based on the carbon dioxide gas flow profile.

A system comprising:
- an infrared camera comprising a carbon dioxide filter, the camera configured to capture an image sequence of a user;
- a processing unit;
- and
- a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processing unit, cause the system to:
- detect an exhalation of the user within the image sequence;
- select frames from an initial portion of the detected exhalation;
- generate a carbon dioxide gas flow profile of a PPE worn by the user based on the selected frames;
- and
- classify a seal quality of the PPE based on the carbon dioxide gas flow profile.
