Abstract
Accelerometer locations in a vehicle for weight estimation and associated methods are disclosed. An example vehicle includes a suspension system including an upper control arm, a lower strut joint, or a leaf spring and a shackle to operatively couple a wheel to a frame of the vehicle, and an accelerometer coupled to the upper control arm, the lower strut joint, or the shackle, a position of the accelerometer to change when the upper control arm, the lower strut joint, or the shackle moves from a change in a load being supported by the vehicle.

A vehicle comprising:
- a suspension system including an upper control arm, a lower strut joint, or a leaf spring and a shackle to operatively couple a wheel to a frame of the vehicle;
- and
- an accelerometer coupled to the upper control arm, the lower strut joint, or the shackle, a position of the accelerometer to change when the upper control arm, the lower strut joint, or the shackle moves from a change in a load being supported by the vehicle.
A vehicle comprising:
- a suspension system including an upper control arm, a lower strut joint, or a leaf spring and a shackle to couple an end of the leaf spring to a frame of the vehicle, the leaf spring including leaves and a clinch clip to couple the leaves;
- and
- an accelerometer to couple to the upper control arm, the lower strut joint, the shackle, or the clinch clip.
A vehicle comprising:
- a suspension system including at least one of an upper control arm, a lower control arm, a leaf spring, or a shackle to couple an end of the leaf spring to a frame of the vehicle;
- and
- an accelerometer including a first end and a second end opposite the first end, the first end coupled to the upper control arm, the lower control arm, the lower strut joint, the shackle, or the leaf spring, the accelerometer disposed at an angle that positions at least a portion of the second end above the first end.
