Portable lighting device with a coupler assembly and an articulation mechanism that provides multiple degrees of freedom and adjustability

A portable lighting device with multiple degrees of freedom and adjustability, the lighting device comprising:

• a clip assembly configured to secure the portable lighting device to an object, the clip assembly having a U-shaped configuration provided by an upper member, a lower member and a curvilinear portion extending between the upper and lower members, the clip assembly also having an adhesive pad disposed on an outer surface of the upper member;
• an illumination assembly comprising a housing, at least one light source residing within the housing, a power source residing within the housing and at least one interface that is operably connected to the power source and the at least one light source;
• and
• an articulation mechanism having a first end moveably coupled to the illumination assembly and a second end moveably coupled to the clip assembly, wherein the articulation mechanism is configured to provide at least four degrees of freedom between the clip assembly and the illumination assembly.
