Pulse modulation technique for gas turbine engines

An aircraft comprising:

• a multi-engine configuration with a plurality of engines including at least three engines;
• and
• a flight control system coupled to the plurality of engines with a multi-engine interface, wherein the flight control system is configured to:
• shut down at least one engine of the plurality of engines during reduced engine operation, and
• reduce fuel consumption of at least one other engine of the plurality of engines during the reduced engine operation by pulse modulating fuel delivery to the at least one other engine of the plurality of engines.

An aircraft comprising:

• a multi-engine interface comprising a first engine interface and a second engine interface;
• a first engine coupled to the first engine interface;
• a second engine coupled to the second engine interface;
• and
• a flight control system coupled to the first engine interface and the second engine interface, wherein, during a reduced engine operation, the flight control system is configured to:
• shut down the first engine, and
• reduce fuel consumption of the second engine by pulse modulating fuel delivery to the second engine.

A method comprising:

• interfacing with at least three engines of an aircraft;
• determining to enter a reduced engine operation mode;
• in response to the determination, shutting down at least one engine of the at least three engines;
• and
• in response to the determination, reducing fuel consumption by at least one other engine of the at least three engines by pulse modulating fuel delivery to the at least one other engine.
