Abstract
A modular construction system includes housing modules that stack vertically. Each module has a shaft alignment element with male and female alignment features at the top and bottom. The shaft alignment element includes upper and lower template plates with aligned openings. Risers pass through these openings to connect utilities between stacked modules. This system allows precise alignment of utility connections during assembly.
Claims20
A modular construction system comprising:
- a plurality of housing modules, each housing module having a bottom and a top, a top of a first housing module coupled with a bottom of a second housing module to vertically stack the first housing module and the second housing module, each housing module including at least one exterior wall alignment element, and at least one shaft alignment element, and at least one riser;
- the at least one exterior wall alignment element having a top and a bottom, a male exterior wall alignment feature structured along the top, and a female exterior wall alignment feature structured along the bottom;
- the at least one shaft alignment element having a top and a bottom, a male riser alignment feature structured along the top, and a female riser alignment feature structured along the bottom, and having an upper template plate structured in proximity with the top and with a riser opening, and having a lower template plate structured in proximity with the bottom and with a riser opening, the riser opening of the upper template plate vertically aligned with the riser opening of the lower template plate;
- the at least one riser configured to pass through corresponding riser opening of the lower template plate and the riser opening of the upper template plate, each riser of the at least one riser having a first end and a second end, the first end of each riser structured to couple a source.

A modular construction system comprising:
